[Lo-Fi Hip Hop] A Stroll in Paris

By Mortistar on February 4, 2018 11:59 pm

Hey guys, what week are we on now, 5? Crazy how quick the weeks go by. Started this one again on the Sunday, really need to sort myself out with timings aha. Anyways, I got some inspiration by listening to old jazz tunes to make a sorta hip hop beat out of one of the Jazz Standards, "Afternoon In Paris". All of the piano is recorded by me (hence the abysmal timing) but everything else is programmed in. I'm really loving the Karoryfer Meatbass soundfont that I used for the double bass, it's a beautiful soundfont and I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to make bossa-nova/jazz styled pieces. As always, I hoped you enjoyed this track and thank you for listening heart

This is like a chique 30's speakeasy, but the barman is wearing a crooked snapback instead of a flatcap. great vibe!

Oh shit. Not sure what I expected, but this is great :0 Very smooth. The recorded piano definitely adds to it. Well played! Definitely one of my favs!

Really awesome and chill smile great chords!

Listened to this for 15 minutes straight while shaking my head to the rhythm and doing hiphop arm movements big_smile

Dope stuff. Chill but very upbeat.

Thats a nice piano ya got there with a nice beat!

Got to admit that piano work is impressive

beautiful vibe here, and a super fun take on a classic. love that meaty, movie-punch sounding snare.

Lo-fi, jazz and hop, always a lovely combination :3 And the piano playing isn't nearly as abysmal as you think it is! Props for the snare sound as well, like Parallelis said.

Ahh great stuff. That bass really is tasty, as you say!

It's a very tasty, sophisticated blend.
